Note in fine print “Please note that there are 12 letters in our name – an even dozen. Remember this if in doubt”.
Apparently the company had developed a 3-wheel sulky plow in 1884, whose name “Flying Dutchman” became the trademark for all the companies’ products. The “Dutchman” was a rotund and jolly looking winged man, in whose hand was an ear of corn. The stem of a pipe is sticking out of his pantaloons.
